If you are connected to Jesus, you have become a partner in His divine enterprise. That enterprise is sharing His love with others. That act of sharing changes others’ eternal destiny. That is not just “success.” That is significance. It is not efficiency; it is effectiveness. That is eternal fruit. You have transcended the ordinary. You experience fulfillment on an eternal level. You are connected to the journey of significance.

Life beyond ordinary doesn’t always require leaving your present job. It doesn’t always include living in the jungle the rest of your life. It doesn’t even require full-time service in ministry. It could be part-time, as a volunteer.

Yet, don’t underestimate what God can do through you. When God is your partner, when you are His messenger, you are on a journey of supernatural significance. You have been given a spiritual privilege with eternal dimensions.

How important are you to God? Consider this: Do you think dust is important? Someone once said, “Dust is only ‘dirt in the wrong place.’” Yet, the blue sky tints of sunset are due to dust. Without dust, the sky would appear black. Thank God for putting this “dirt in the wrong place.”

In the same way, God uses ordinary people like you and me. Jesus declares us as significant. Jesus took His disciples: sinners, tax collectors, thieves—people who were often despised and trampled on like dirt—and made them into noble men and women. They—we—become servants of God. We represent the King of the universe!

You journey through life every day. When you share your faith with those who don’t yet know Jesus personally, your journey takes on supernatural dimensions. The power of the Holy Spirit is the wind at your back. The mission of Jesus has changed your personal world. You are an agent of the King of the Universe. You are on the significance journey.
