It is that time of the year: Summer is quickly beginning to pass by, and we are bracing to approach autumn.
Some of us are desperately holding on to every second of summer that is left—that watermelon crunch, robust red tomatoes, flower gardens, long walks on the beach, or hanging out at the pool. Social media posts have already started the season’s war, and there have been outcries for a pumpkin ban from the summer lovers. Yet, others are already eagerly embracing the smell of apple cider and pumpkin spice that is evidently on the horizon. Whether you are team beach or pumpkin spice lattes, one thing is clear—the next season is upon us, like it or not.
Even if you are someone who is ready to embrace the upcoming change, moving into a new season is not as easy as it sounds. Much of this has to do with the issue that our priorities need to make some sort of shift to enter this new season. And while this is certainly true for nature, as we are the organic handiwork of God, it is also true for us and for our churches and ministries.
So, how is your church or ministry preparing for the upcoming change in season?
