Who are you discipling in the next generation? Who is mentoring you? As disciples, we all should be following and leading someone. Mentoring is a vehicle for a discipleship relationship to take place. It is a time to share life’s deepest parts with another. To listen, learn, share, and grow. It is a place where the heart can be opened to let God come in to heal. It is a relationship where God can plow the hardness of our heart and for it to be renewed in Christ. It is a place where wisdom is shared by listening to life experiences of how another has followed Christ through the battles and blessing in life. Mentoring is a way of passing on our faith and making disciples (Matt. 28). I want to share some truths I have learned over the years form being in mentoring relationship. I hope these truths help guide you as you enter into mentoring relationship.
