Kent R. Hunter

Kent R. HunterKent R. Hunter is the founder of Church Doctor Ministries. He has served as a pastor in Michigan, Indiana, and South Australia. In the past 35 years, Kent has consulted more than 1,400 churches from 65 denominations, fellowships, and movements. Kent is the architect of Healthy Churches Thrive!, a 36-month spiritual adventure to prepare churches for the coming revival, and SEND North America, a training experience to equip young adults to be missionaries to their culture.

Kent received his Ph.D. from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago and his D.Min. degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California. He is the author of 30 books on the subject of church health, vitality, and the effectiveness of the church. His last book is Who Broke My Church? 7 Proven Strategies for Renewal and Revival, published September 2017.

Kent says his reason for being on this earth is to help Christians and churches become more effective for the Great Commission, to make disciples of all peoples. He recognizes that America is the third largest mission field in the world, behind China and India. His passion is to come alongside pastors and church leaders to provide encouragement, direction, and focus and to turn challenges into opportunities for mission through the local church.

Kent lives on a certified tree farm in northeast Indiana with his wife, Janet. Kent and Janet have two grown children, Laura and Jon.
