My wife and I first met Phil during the coffee break between the early and late worship services. It was easy to see that he was new to our church. He was standing alone in the café area. So, I walked up to him and introduced myself. I had seen him from a distance the previous Sunday but never got the chance to talk with him. I asked Phil if he came to worship with someone else. He replied that he was alone. Someone had told him about our contemporary worship service, and he was there to check it out. I asked where he lived, and in the process, he shared that he had walked to church that day because he doesn’t have transportation. He explained that he is working on a truck and hoped to someday have some “wheels.” I asked how far he walked. He shared that he had walked over a mile. I quickly responded, “But it’s raining outside!” He said he’d dry off while sitting in church. We invited him to sit with us and offered to drive him home, which we did.

Sometimes you have to make an effort to be a multiplier of God’s Kingdom. Often God puts opportunities right in front of us. Phil is now a “regular” at worship and part of our “Connect Group” that meets once every two weeks on Monday nights.
