The ability to change the strategy to obtain the goal
Most churches, at least in theory, state the biblical goal: to make disciples.
They get trumped up on strategy — the way to obtain the goal.
A changing world requires changing strategies. Jesus calls for us to be shrewd managers (strategists). Jesus calls us to be streetwise, allowing “every adversity to stimulate you to creative survival,” or flexibility (Luke 16:1-9). This reflects changing architecture, church location, language, worship, style, outreach approaches, and everything — everything — but the Word of God. Everything else? Changes. Must change, or it roadblocks the mission.
